Redefining Carry : Mimoto

Mimoto carries the value of identity, enabling users to create their own look for their purse through customization. The concept of Mimoto is inspired by a Japanese folding method, Origata. Origata is a traditional gift wrapping The wrapping represents a symbolic shape of the gift inside for the recipient to identify at first glance, creating a form of identity for the gift itself I made use of the origata fold in fold out method to create a purse that can be customized into 32 different designs.

 

The Mimoto comes in a 297 by 210 mm cloth and a frame. This cloth can be folded into the desired design by the user and slotted into the frame to make a purse. This purse can be used in many different places and occasions. It is just as easy as folding paper yet you can create an identity for your product without much effort.
